Golden State Warrior coach Steve Kerr was awarded the Rudy Tomjanovich Award on Monday, an award that distinguishes an NBA coach for his relationship with the media and fans.

This is obviously not the trophy after which Steve Kerr runs but the award highlights how much the coach Golden State is a key figure in recent years in the NBA. Kerr was honored on Monday with the Rudy Tomjanovich Award – named after the former coach of the Houston Rockets – which rewards a coach’s investment in media and fans, while emphasizing excellence on the floor.

Steve Kerr places his name on the honors list for the second time in his career since he had already received the same prize in 2015. This season, he was ahead of Brad Stevens (Boston), Mike D’Antoni (Houston), Doc Rivers (LA Clippers) and Steve Clifford (Charlotte).
