It took all the talent of Eden Hazard, back in the second period, to make the last champions League finalists fold. In the 85th minute, the Belgian made a magnificent number in the opposing defense before starting a sublime shot that sent his team to the round of 16 (1-2).
A few moments earlier, Liverpool had the 2-1 ball in their favour. But Daniel Sturridge’s shot was pushed back by Willy Caballero’s bar (83rd).
The British international had opened the scoring on the return from the dressing rooms of a beautiful comeback after a rejected attempt by Sadio Mané (58′, 1-0).
Chelsea managed to reverse it all in a few minutes, first thanks to Emerson Palmieri (79′, 1-1) and then Hazard went on stage.
